“Moving Tiles” Watch Face

Results

“Moving Tiles” has remained one of the top watch faces across all Misfit display devices – second only to the default option per each platform – since its launch. It remains largely unchanged due in large part to the (atypical) rounds of testing and refinement conducted prior to implementation as well as building upon tenets of the Misfit brand – use of basic geometry, a monotone palette with a single color pop, and simple interactions.

Challenges

  • Create an interactive, app-esque experience within the limitations of a watch face.

  • Maintain the “Vapor” aesthetic principles from the rest of the platform.

  • Account for all possible supported 3rd party apps and complications.

  • Stay within Google’s design and system parameters.
